Before you start

A few rules worth knowing,
so the job stays trouble-free.

These are general principles. The rules that apply to you are the ones published by the Ministry of Labor and your school. Your eligibility to work is confirmed by the employer — MatchGlobal does not check it.

Read the full guide to working rules →
Permit
Apply for a work permit first
An international student needs a valid work permit before taking a job. Apply online through the Ministry of Labor.
20h
20 hours a week maximum in term time
The limit does not apply during the holidays. Keep an eye on your own total when you take shifts.
Minimum
Pay cannot be below the minimum wage
Both hourly and monthly pay have a legal floor. Check what a listing says against what actually reaches you.
Insurance
Employers must enrol you
Labour and health insurance are required by law — that is what covers you if you are hurt or fall ill.
FOR GRADUATES

Graduated, and want to stay in Taiwan?

There are full-time roles here too — front desk, floor supervisor, trainee manager. The same profile carries you from part-time work into a full-time job.

Never pay to get a job. A legitimate employer pays you.

Never hand over originals

Keep your passport and residence card yourself. An employer only ever needs a copy.

Look for “Verified business”

A company that has checked its registration number against the government record is marked on its listings.

Report anything suspicious

Every listing can be reported, and the MatchGlobal team reviews it.

Questions job seekers ask

Does it cost anything to find work through MatchGlobal?

It is completely free. Browsing, applying, interviewing and clocking in all cost nothing. Never accept a job that asks you to pay first.

My Chinese isn't very good — can I still apply?

Yes. Every listing states the language level it needs, and some roles only need basic conversation. The platform itself is available in English and Vietnamese.

Does MatchGlobal confirm whether I'm allowed to work?

No. You fill in your own residency and work-permit details for the employer to consider, and confirming eligibility is the employer's responsibility. Please make sure what you enter is accurate.

Can I look for full-time work after I graduate?

Yes. There are full-time roles here for international graduates. Check the employment rules that apply after graduation with the employer.
